Course 11377-26 - 1 PDH - Simple Quality Assurance Measures for Land Surveyors

  • 30 Days

Course Description

This course addresses Quality Assurance (QA) not as an abstract management concept but as a set of practical, field-tested habits and procedural checkpoints that a licensed land surveyor can implement without significant additional cost or time investment. The material is organized around six core areas where QA has the greatest impact on survey accuracy and defensibility: instrument care and field verification, traverse closure and adjustment, deed and record research verification, coordinate geometry checking, final deliverable review, and documentation practices. QA in land surveying does not require a formal quality management system or a large staff. Many of the measures discussed in this course can be applied by a sole practitioner or a small firm with minimal overhead. What they do require is deliberate attention and consistent application. The professional who builds these habits into standard practice will produce more defensible work, reduce the likelihood of costly errors, and demonstrate the kind of professional diligence that reflects well on the license they hold. Upon completing this course, participants will have earned one professional development hour (PDH) applicable to land surveying continuing education requirements.
