Course Description
Strong teams do not happen by accident. In the surveying profession, accuracy, safety, and efficiency depend on coordinated effort among field crews, office technicians, and project managers. Teamwork directly influences the quality of the final work product. Poor communication, limited trust, and unresolved conflict can undermine results, while effective teams promote consistency, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence. This course is designed for licensed Professional Land Surveyors who lead, manage, or work with survey teams. It applies to small field crews, multi-office operations, and professionals working across field and office environments. Participants will explore team development, communication, trust, accountability, conflict resolution, leadership, motivation, and culture. Practical scenarios and proven frameworks connect these concepts to daily surveying responsibilities. The course presents team building not as a separate soft skill, but as a core professional competency essential to successful project delivery, alongside instrument calibration, boundary research, and deed interpretation. The course awards two professional development hours (PDH).
